In the US, Nitin was pleasantly surprised to see the success of the South Asian community as entrepreneurs. He would go on to do his doctoral thesis on South Asian immigrant entrepreneurs and launch a talk show to document these journeys and stories. Today, The INDUStry Show is the longest running talk show primarily focusing on sharing South Asian entrepreneurial and executive journeys. More than 300 journeys have been shared so far and the content has more than 10 million views and more than a million engagements.
Nitin believes he has been extremely fortunate – education, health, and a strong upbringing. He has been an active supporter of several causes focused on children’s education and nutrition, and enabling those that have not been as blessed. He has served on the boards of several nonprofit organizations including Akshaya Patra, Pratham, and SAHARA.
During his time working in and with the South Asian community, Nitin learned about the challenges of the South Asian community up close. Depending on your mother tongue and religion, there were several entities/ organizations that you could affiliate with, there was none that represented and united the South Asian community in the US, especially those between 10 and 50 years of age.
children’s education and nutrition, empowerment of the elderly and women, and youth skilling are causes that have been close to my heart. i have been extremely fortunate to contribute in insignificant ways and have received so much more in return.
i encourage you to learn more about these causes and engage with your time, talent, and treasure where appropriate.

Akshaya Patra feeds 2 million children, each school day. these nutritious meals cost $20 for the entire year. these meals are the only reason many of these children go to school, and get an education.

antha prerna foundation helps immigrant and women entrepreneurs with access to resources and visibility. their work has been published by renowned publications such as Fortune and their content has more than 50 million impressions

Pratham’s Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) has revolutionized early childhood education. they have positively impacted more than 75 million children in India and Africa, in addition to skilling millions of youth

Sahara Cares helps victims of domestic violence (DV), typically the elderly and the women. Sahara offers resources in multiple international languages and helps with services such as immigration, and providing shelter

The American South Asian Network (ASAN) was launched to fill a significant gap in representation and support for South Asians in the United States.
At the launch of ASAN, Nitin said, “there is a lack of unity amongst the South Asian diaspora – the community needs a platform that truly reflects the diversity and collective potential of South Asians across different subcultures and generations.”
ASAN is bridging this gap by creating an inclusive community where the voices, especially of the younger generations, are heard and supported. through it’s programs, ASAN equips the community with the tools needed to excel both personally and professionally.
